Thursday, April 27th, 2017 was the 2A region meet. Of the 8 girls, none of them qualified. Of the 14 boys that qualified for Regions, only 4 made it to State. Although the athletes did not perform the way they wanted to, they all agreed that it was a fun trip.

Noah Mumme (11) placed 1st in the pole vault, jumping 14-00.00. Luis Morris (11) placed 3rd in the pole vault and jumped 12-11.75. Thomas Persicketti (10) placed 3rd overall for high jump,  jumping 6-04.75. Johnny Cacciatore (12) placed 3rd in the 1600 meter race with a time of 4:25.08.

Of the 22 runners that ran at Regions, four of Satellite’s athletes traveled to the state meet. As a team of 4, they placed 8th overall with a score of 22 points. Mumme won the state meet for pole vault and Morris tied for 2nd place. In the boys’ high jump, Persicketti  placed 6th. Cacciatore placed 8th for the boys 1600 meter race with a time of 4:25.

Overall, the state meet was a success and the team is hopeful for next year’s season.
