The boys’ baseball team started the week off with a tough loss at Viera, being shutout 0-10 by the Hawks. However, they quickly redeemed themselves at Melbourne Central Catholic, hustling the Hustlers 2-1. The Hustlers, previously undefeated in the conference, fought hard against us, but their efforts were not enough to stop the sting of the Scorps. Senior Marshall Dreyer reflects that “[the win] was a really cool experience with the boys,” and “seeing [them] come together as a team was a pretty rewarding experience.” Junior Alec Eldridge adds that a large contribution to their recent success is that “[they] all play together and for each other.”  The team carried their momentum home to beat Astronaut 1-6 in yet another conference game. With this win, the boys remain undefeated in their conference, and Eldridge remains undefeated on the mound. Though the team has proven successful this season, Eldridge believes that “a lot of improvement needs to be made.” Hopefully, the boys will continue their winning streak when they head to Titusville to face the Terriers in a conference game this Wednesday, April 5th.

The Junior Varsity team followed in Varsity’s footsteps with a win at Titusville, defeating the Terriers 12-8. However, the boys were unable to defeat Rockledge, falling 6-1 against the Raiders at home last Tuesday. The boys left their loss in the past and quickly moved forward to defeat Eau Gallie on their own turf with a 7-2 score. The team ended their season on a high, stinging the Space Coast Vipers last night 20-9. With a rough start, the boys finished their hard fought season, winning 7 games, and losing 7.
