If you have a younger sibling, you know the difficulties that arise when Christmas times comes, especially keeping the “Santa Secret”.  The Elf on the Shelf is one of the newest additions that Parents use to get their children to behave around Christmas because no one wants to get on the naughty list. For those who are unaware of the Elf on the Shelf, he is a personal elf for each family that reports back to Santa on the good behaved children and the bad behaved children. The elf usually shows up on December 1st and leaves December 25th, but it is up to you and your family to decide when he/she leaves. From personal experience, the Elf has done some crazy things from hanging from the chandelier to hiding in a plant, but if you are hiding the elf in your family, here are some ideas…

  1. Ziplining to the Christmas Tree
  2. Scaling the Christmas Tree
  3. Hiding in plants
  4. Clinging to the staircase
  5. Playing twister
  6. Being a ninja
  7. Sleeping on marshmallows
  8. Sledding down the staircase
  9. Riding on a toy train track
  10. Make a ball pit out of small pom poms and a basket

Overall, elf on the shelf can be a fun tradition for you and your younger siblings to enjoy. Just remember… don’t touch the elf around your younger siblings. It ruins the magic!
